Terms
Terms of service.
The rules of the road. We've tried to keep this short, plain, and honest about what you're agreeing to. Last reviewed by counsel: pending — these are interim terms until the formal review lands.
Last updated: 2026-05-12
Who you're contracting with
Horizont Education Ltd., a private company registered in Greece, doing business as "Horizont" across the Agora, Synapse, and Mentor products.
Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your credentials private (Horizont uses Clerk for identity — two-factor auth is available from your settings). One person per account; share with nobody.
We can suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms or the community guidelines — including harassment, doxxing, plagiarism, and use of cohort materials for commercial training datasets without educator consent.
What you're paying for
Two pricing models, billed via Stripe.
- Per-cohort enrollment— a one-time charge for a specific cohort. Gets you the cohort, the recordings, and access to the cohort community for the cohort's duration.
- Membership (Student or Scholar) — a monthly subscription. See /membership for tier details. Cancellable any time from /settings/account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refund policy
- Per-cohort— full refund if you withdraw before the first session. After the first session, prorated refund for any sessions you haven't attended, up to the midpoint of the cohort. After the midpoint, no refund.
- Membership— cancellable any time; we don't prorate the current month. If we have materially failed to deliver (extended outage, missed cohort sessions on our side), email billing@horizont.soand we'll make it right.
- EU consumer-law right of withdrawal — EU consumers have a 14-day right to withdraw from a digital-services contract, subject to the specific exceptions in Directive 2011/83/EU. If you start consuming a course or membership benefit within those 14 days, you waive the right of withdrawal for the consumed portion.
Educator agreement
Educators teaching on Horizont sign a separate educator agreement covering revenue share, intellectual-property rights, cohort-quality commitments, and editorial standards. The educator agreement governs the relationship between Horizont and the educator; these terms govern the relationship between Horizont and the learner.
Intellectual property
Course materials remain the property of the educator who created them. Your enrollment gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to access the materials for your own learning. Your project work remains yours; we ask permission before featuring it in the public showcase or in marketing.
What we don't promise
Horizont is provided "as is." We don't guarantee employment, certification recognition by third parties, or any specific learning outcome. We work hard at the things we do guarantee: platform availability, cohort delivery, educator quality, and a community worth being part of. Where we fall short of those, tell us and we'll fix it.
Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email and in-app at least 30 days before they take effect. The current version always lives at this URL with a last-updated date at the top.
Disputes
These terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes that can't be resolved informally go to the courts of Athens, Greece. If you're an EU consumer, the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform is also available to you.
